Central Coast Coastal Connections

Saturday, 27th September “The Grande Finale Ball” I have again attached flyer for your information.  This is the last Ball they are putting on.  The few that have travel that far north, (not far really) have always enjoyed the Ball.  Again, I would encourage anyone who hasn’t been before to think of going.  The Balls put on by CCCC are at a great venue, well organised and a lot of fun.

TICKETS: Members $45   Non Members $85

BOOKINGS: CCCC”s

LAST MONTH

I reviewed the Xmas in July Party in last month’s letter, because the letter was so late it was published after the party.  I am publishing this before the AGM to ensure everybody knows about it.  I didn’t see the Retiree’s movie last month (August), Carolyn (my sister, if you didn’t know) and I were busy that day.  It in fact has been a very busy month for me with every weekend taken up with something and the new workshop being built during the week. I also have had bats put in the roof.  (Insulating ones before you get carried away.)

The only other function for the month was Pollys Dance.  What fun, it was a record breaking attendance.  Flabba were at it with a wig theme.  It was a really entertaining show.  Maxx and John had extra guests and so did Denver. It made up a good party. It was especially nice to be able to show Pollys at their best for some neophytes.  Who was the person trying to chat up Denver?

The new Duchess’s dinners have been well attended.  We are trying a couple of new places.  Our favourites from the Harp in Tempe who moved to the Bald Face Stag have now moved to Bathurst. We are not chasing them to there.  Bathurst is a dreary place and a little bit far to drive for dinner.  Any one with a pilot’s licence?  We went to a new place last Thursday, a Thai restaurant in Rockdale called Shada.  Everyone liked it so we will be going again.  At least it suits John R!

If anyone has a suggestion for a Dinner at 8 venue, please talk to Dennis.  We are always happy to try new places.  Venues basically should have an interesting menu at reasonable prices, and parking for cars.  Hopefully the cost of alcohol is not too much either.

Eric has been entertaining a guest from America. I am sure most of you know Wayne. He has been coming to Australia for years.  He leaves on Saturday, just before the AGM.  He doesn’t want to be Secretary, I think.  Anyway it is farewell on Thursday night at dinner.  We are going to Tarts at his request.

One other important matter has been occupying our thoughts for the month is Darrel’s health. As we reported last month is has not been great.  In fact he had to go to hospital again. This time to the RPA Intensive Care Unit.
